Lancias dominate opening ‘Protyre Asphalt’ eSports round

May

The Group A Lancia Delta HF Integrale was the cunning car of choice on the opening round of Protyre Motorsports UK Asphalt Rally Championship eSports tournament – with the top three positions occupied by the famous Italian car, and six of them finishing in the top seven.

Round 1 of the free to enter ‘Protyre Asphalt’ series, played on the DiRT Rally 2.0 game, was contested over eight fast and smooth Rally Spain stages.

NickyL555 completed the round in a time of 30mins 18.47secs, 34.44 seconds ahead of ewantindall, with Suter555UK a close third.

Round 2 has now automatically started, with competitors having until 4pm next Monday (11 May) to compete six Rally Germany stages.

This week it’s the turn of the rear-wheel drive Group B cars – and you can choose from a Lancia 037, Opel Manta 400, BMW M1 or a Porsche 911.

There are five ‘Protyre Asphalt’ rounds in total, with a new round starting every Monday.

Even if you have missed the first round, you can still join in the fun by logging on to the Codemaster Racenet section and adding ‘Protyre Asphalt’ to your list of club favourites.

Watch out for those concrete hinkelsteins on the Panzerplatte stages this week – and good luck everyone!
