Speedy Sisson returns in mighty Mitsubishi

Every so often, a driver and car combination what shouldn’t really challenge for an overall event victory in the Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship springs a big surprise – but nobody does it as often as Wayne Sisson.

Driving his immaculately-prepared AMS Arnside Motorsport Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X, Sisson is always in the mix – so much so, that he led the series for much of 2018 before finishing runner-up in the overall drivers’ category.

Then four high scoring results in 2019 – including a fifth overall on the Down Rally – saw him end the season in eighth place overall.

After such amazing performances, it will come as no surprise that Sisson has won the class B14 in the two previous years, and now the double champion is back to try and make it a hat-trick.

“I will be doing the Protyre Asphalt Rally Championship once again in the AMS Evo X,” says Sisson_. “I’m really looking forward to the events that I have experience of and enjoy, as well as some new events. There are more and more R5 and World Rally Cars appearing on the entry lists these days which makes it hard work, but I have proven that the Evo X has good pace and that consistent results pay dividends at the end of the year.”_
