On Thursday July 12th a number of key members of the tyre industry, fire service, police service and highways agency attended the annual TyreSafe awards ceremony at The Belfry in Sutton Coldfield.

The evening, hosted by TyreSafe chairman, Stuart Jackson, was a huge eye opener for all that attended with the achievements of the year being highlighted whilst the seriousness of the fight that is still needed to make our roads safer carries on.
 
Protyre once again won the award for TyreSafe Retailer of the Year – its fifth consecutive win, whilst also taking home an Emergency Services award for their support throughout the year and the Wholesaler of the Year award.
 
The company’s continued commitment to raising awareness of tyre safety and the dangers of poorly maintained or part worn tyres was again applauded by the judging panel. Protyre’s initiatives during last year’s Tyre Safety Month included a tyre test day video which was shared across social media, free safety checks, mailing and email campaigns and a full day of live radio interviews.
 
Simon Hiorns, retail director said: “We take our commitment to tyre safety very seriously and dedicate much energy and resource to it, so it’s very satisfying to have our efforts recognised and rewarded. We have a serious message to convey, but do so in a fun and entertaining way to make sure that message resonates with as many people as possible. We’re already planning our campaign for this year and think it’s our strongest yet so hope to be back on the podium next year!”
