Giti Research & Development Centres
R&D Centre - USA: Giti’s USA Research and Development centre is located in Akron, the city referred to as ‘the capital of tyre technology’. This facility focuses on tyre technology development, collaborating with independent testing centres as well as academic institutions, including CenTire (the Centre for Tyre Research). In addition, it also works on the development of all new products for North America OE and replacement market customers.
R&D Centre - Europe: Giti’s European Research and Development Centre, located in Hanover, Germany, focuses on OE and replacement tyre projects benchmarking the trends in emerging tyre technologies, helping to continuously raise the bar for the performance of new products.
Testing Centre - Europe: The vehicle testing department of R&D Centre EU is situated at the internationally-acclaimed proving grounds of Motor Industry Research Association (MIRA) in Birmingham, UK. Here, outdoor tests are conducted for both Giti’s replacement and OE tyres.
R&D Centre - China: Located in Hefei, China Research and Development centre is a state-of-the-art facility provides valuable infrastructural support to Giti’s global staff to deliver timely and regionalised market products. As well as conducting its own research and technology development, it also continuously works closely with leading Chinese universities in the fields of; tyre materials research, tyre performance simulation, and tyre design technology.
R&D Centre - Indonesia: The Research and Development in Tangerang, Indonesia, is operated by Giti’s affiliated company PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk. and located in Tangerang Indonesia. In addition to this facility, the company is currently constructing its very own modern proving ground in Karawang, Indonesia. This will provide a competitive advantage to help capture more OE business South East Asia, as well as improving the cycle time for new product development.
