Goodyear's Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 tyre won the Silver Award in the 2018 Evo tests.

It was another tyre, another success story, for Goodyear at the 2018 Evo tyre tests. "Rated best in the wet", the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 tyre won Silver award in the 19-inch performance tyre category.

Testing considered the main aspects of tyre performance; dry road and wet road grip, in addition to, driver feel and comfort, to provide a measured blend of total performance.

Goodyear eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 achieves Silver overall

Overall the tyre performed well in each test category, never falling below the top four in:

  • Wet handling

  • Braking and rolling resistance

  • Aquaplaning

  • Dry handling

  • Road route

However, it was in the wet where the best results for this tyre could be seen.

Standout Performance in the wet

Wet handling

What does the test consist of?
The wet handling circuit climbs and falls on the gentle slope of the proving ground, challenging the grip and composure of each tyre in many ways.

The Result

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 tyre excelled in the tricky, wet conditions with its handling performing in a calm, exploitable and effective way.

Aquaplaning

What does the test consist of?
Evo measure the speed at which each tyre over-speeds by more than 15per cent in a straight line and similarly in the wet.

The Result
The tyre continued performing especially well in the wet. In the Straight-line aquaplaning, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric tyre finished second with a maximum speed of 71kph and the same result for the Curved aquaplaning, again with a maximum speed of 71kph demonstrating fantastic consistency and reliability in wet conditions.
