Well done to our team who attended the motoring event at Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome and Proving Ground for raising £1,400 for Cancer Research UK.

Money was raised by challenging show visitors to set the fastest lap on a Pirelli race simulator. The winner received a shirt signed by reigning F1 champion, Lewis Hamilton.

The team also raised additional money through an auction, which included a baseball cap signed F1 driver Nico Rosberg, a Williams F1 watch, four tickets to the British Touring Car Championship event at Silverstone, a Porsche experience day, as well as a signed Northampton Saints rugby shirt.

Rob Gardner from Protyre, said: “The event was a huge success, not just in terms of how much money we managed to raise for Cancer Research UK, but also being able to meet lots of people and speak to them about tyres and tyre safety. Your tyres are the only part of the vehicle in contact with the road, so it’s crucial that motorists understand the importance of regular checks and what to look for, such as tread depth and tyre pressure.”

The event was attended by our four Leicester centres, based in Bradgate Street, Bull Head Street, Narborough Road, and Melton Road, along with three Warwickshire centres - Emscote Road, Warwick; Payne Lane, Rugby; and Southam Drive in Southam.
