The winners of the 2018 89th National Tyre Distributors Association annual dinner have been announced. The event which was held on Thursday 4th October at the Double Tree by Hilton in Milton Keynes was hosted by TV personality and sports presenter Mark Durden-Smith (I'm a Celebrity: Get Me out of Here! NOW!, This Morning Summer, Sky 1's The Match)

The event was attended by over 500 people which followed the Tyre Industry Conference earlier on in the day with numerous guest speakers from across the industry.

Before the event NTDA Chief Executive Stefan Hay said: “Once again we’ve had a great response to the awards. Lots of different companies have entered including some of our newer members”

To their delight Protyre won the Industry Marketing Campaign of the Year for their 2017 TyreSafe awareness campaign.

Protyre, aided by super-vlogger @shmee150 and Who’s the Mummy blogger Sally Whittle @swhittle found out what the real-world performance difference are between new, worn and budget tyres. Using three otherwise identical Peugeot 308s and Rockingham’s wet test facility they were let loose. Shmee150 was even challenged to avoid crashing into his own McLaren 675LT supercar!

The judges said: “The Micheldever Protyre entry showed a well evidenced and high-profile campaign across multi channels designed to raise awareness of tyre safety with very engaging and relevant messages and we applaud Michedever Protyre for its continued partnership with, and support of, the tyre safety consumer charity TyreSafe.”

The NTDA (The National Tyre Distributors Association) was founded in 1930 and is a proactive trade association that represents and promotes the interests of the tyre industry.
