Protyre Tavistock raises money for local charity
By Gareth Vrac
A tyre safety evening organised by our Tavistock centre has raised £160 for Tavistock Specials Football Club.
In celebration of Tyre Safety Month, which was promoted throughout October by national tyre safety charity Tyre Safe, Protyre Tavistock, which is located on Plymouth Road Industrial Estate, held the event to promote tyre safety awareness whilst raising money for the charity.
The event was a fun-filled evening with free giveaways, a raffle boasting £500 worth of prizes, free tyre checks along with advice and information about tyre safety. The money was raised through donations and raffle ticket sales for Tavistock Specials FC, a local football team for players with disabilities that the centre has supported since 2005.
Dave Thompson, manager of Protyre Tavistock, said: “We’ve supported Tavistock Specials FC for over 10 years so to combine the tyre safety event with a fundraiser was perfect.
“The evening was a huge success and we’d like to say a massive thank you to Bridgestone, Continental, Pirelli, TESCO Tavistock and all of the local families that came down to get involved and show their support.”
