It’s been an incredible season, dominated by Ollie Chadwick from the Xentek Motorsport team. In fact, after the last race weekend at Croft Circuit, Chadwick already has one hand on the championship title.

Chadwick won both races during the weekend. In the first race, he won from pole position. Then in the following race, he started from second but went on to beat Ryan Hadfield, from the R&J Motorsport team. Hadfield was leading on the last lap, but was forced wide coming into the hairpin. The pair then raced door handle to door handle across the line, with Chadwick taking the chequered flag victory by just 0.083 seconds.

Chadwick now has a commanding lead (135 points) over nearest rival, Hadfield, ahead of the penultimate race weekend at the legendary Spa Francorchamps circuit, home of the Belgium F1 GP, on 8th-9th July.

Protyre has been championship sponsor for a number of years. We also supply all control tyres (where drivers can’t bring their own tyres) for each race. These control tyres are barcoded and used to identify each driver. We take two fully functional fitting trailers with awnings and fitting equipment plus two stock trailers full of tyres. At big events we change and fit around 1,000 tyres!

The Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challenge is a popular entry-level championship for many aspiring GT racers. That’s because it offers a unique, low-cost opportunity for drivers to race in a single-make racing championship, whilst still being a part of a prestigious support package.
