Having finished ever rally he contested in 2019, Chris Wheeler will start the 2020 Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship full of confidence in his fast and reliable 1.6-litre turbocharged Citroen DS3 R3T.

The Torquay-based driver won the BRC3 British Rally Championship title in 2016, and this year will be the first time that he and co-driver Shaun Layland have contested a full major national rally series since then.

“It’s really boosted our confidence to finish every rally we entered last year,” said Chris. “We also picked up several top ten results against good opposition. Now we are sure the time is right to take on a major national series again.

“We looked carefully at the various championship options and feel the Protyre National Asphalt Championship gives the right balance of high quality competition and value for money.”
