Protyre Exeter played host to the Porsche Owners Club for a Pirelli PPC evening on the 10th April 2019. On a sunny spring evening, a superb collection of stunning and meticulously-maintained Porsches made their way to the heart of the West Country, for a very special evening.

Our technicians provided free of charge tyre checks capturing all advisories on our state-of-the-art tablets. With the data carefully recorded, we could take the premium car owners through the findings and offer advice on their vehicles and tyre care.

Platinum presentation

Ian Colvin from our Protyre Tavistock branch (a Platinum PPC) gave the guests a presentation about what it takes to be a Platinum Pirelli Performance Centre and the standards required to achieve this accolade. He was awarded with his annual certificate by Pirelli representative Daniel Nyhan, a technical expert for the tyre manufacturer.

Technical expertise from Pirelli and Protyre technicians

Pirelli’s Daniel Nyhan gave a great presentation on the technology that goes into tyres and why OE tyre specifications make such a difference to the performance of a Porsche.

Our technician Dale Johns, who works at our Protyre Exeter garage and has also been a tyre fitter for our Motorsport division at a number of race championships, did a talk about the importance of wheel alignment and gave a demo of our high-spec alignment machine.

Burger Time

The evening was topped off with a Burger Supper supplied by local caterer Nina’s Burger Box. With a choice of freshly prepared burgers, guests were well-looked after and the Porsche drivers went home fed, happy and more knowledgeable on tyres for their treasured vehicles.
