Protyre Faringdon show their support for Women’s International Cycling Tour 2019
By Adam White
The Women’s International Cycling Tour passed through Faringdon Town Centre on Wednesday 12th June. To celebrate stage 3 of the tour, Henley to Blenheim Palace, with the cyclists passing directly through the centre of Faringdon, residents and workforces wore pink in support, including, our very own, Protyre Faringdon depot.
Spectators, residents and local businesses were encouraged to get involved in the pink theme to help create a ‘carnivalesque’ atmosphere in the famously-quirky town. It was the largest sporting event to pass through Faringdon with local and national press documenting the cyclists’ progress.
Protyre are always keen to take advantage of any opportunity to support local communities and events, so we were delighted to get our very own, bespoke, pink Protyre t-shirts made up for our Faringdon team.
Protyre Faringdon Garage Manager, Nikki Ham and her team were only too happy to support the event and the local community of Faringdon:
“This is a fairly quiet town so to have the Women’s International Cycling Tour travelling through and be part of the event was a really big deal! We jumped at the chance to help give Faringdon some well-deserved exposure and put the town on the map.”
