Waters brews up a storm in improved Renault Clio

Tim and Jack Waters will contest this year’s Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship in their rapid and much improved Renault Clio V6.

Tim returned to the sport after a 16-year break in 2018 and together with his son, who was competing for the first time, led the highly competitive B13 class after the Manx National Rally.

After a strong debut season in the car they eventually finished runners-up in the class, finishing just behind Steve Retchless (Escort Mk2).

Their Clio V6 has undergone a significant number of developments during lockdown, and should be even more competitive against the other class machinery this year.

The car will be prepared and run by the Waters family and friends under the Red Kite Racing team banner – and it sports new sponsorship from South Wales craft brewery company, Mad Dog Brewery Co (maddogbrew.co.uk).

“We have submitted an entry for The Old Forge Garage Mewla Rally and can’t wait to get onto the Epynt ranges again,” says Tim.

“We are looking forward to getting out on the stages like most crews.

“Our service crew especially is looking forward to sampling our sponsors product after each event!”

As we all are Tim!
