We’re delighted to announce that we won two awards at the prestigious TyreSafe Awards 2016, including being named Tyre Retailer for the third year running.

TyreSafe Awards 2016, which is organised by the charity, TyreSafe, recognise excellence in promoting and raising the profile of tyres and tyre safety to UK motorists.

We also received the Outstanding Achievement award for our partnership work with the Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service to educate motorists in the county about tyre safety.

As part of our year-long campaign to inform and educate motorists, we organised a variety of initiatives, including supermarket roadshows, PR and advertising activities, as well as social media campaigns. Additionally, during the last year’s Tyre Safety Month, which ran throughout October, our centres managed to check over 200,000 tyres, which resulted in the removal of over 50,000 dangerous and illegal tyres.

Simon Hiorns, retail director, said: “This is an amazing achievement for the business and our customers.

“We’re not just here to sell and fit tyres. I think we have a crucial role to play in educating and informing our customers about the importance of tyres to their safety and the safety of other road users.

“Our work with the Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service is a great example of how working in partnership makes a real difference to road safety and helps save lives.”

Christine Joyce, from TyreSafe, said: “Protyre has ceaselessly committed substantial resources and creativity in its delivery of the tyre safety message throughout the year. That drive to support this potentially life-saving message is a pivotal part of TyreSafe’s success, which is why Protyre thoroughly deserves these awards.”
